Better Prepared

28/01/2008

It looks like we could be in for another day at Southend. With the experience of the last one and having made a few changes I’m looking forward to the next one. Its been a busy week for birthdays this week, Aaron turned eleven, and my mother, well lets say she hit a mile stone of her own, If I said she was seventy, I wouldn’t make my next birthday.

The lessons learnt from our first round of speed at drivenbywind put a few ideas in my head for improvements. Not really major, but just getting the camera and battery box to join together quicker should help me change between courses should the wind change. With each change come another two ideas, but as everything works I just want to make the improvements in stages to ensure they work.

The rest of the country seemed to be getting some wind, we on the other hand had very little, though still enough to give Anthony another lesson on the kite. He looks relieved to be back on dry land, only wish I had a pic from Sunday. It was super light and wanted to watch the boys play football, Anthony ended up in Shaun’s hands, by the sound of it, I’m not such a bad instructor.

The weekend was dominated by the birthdays; Aaron filled the house with kids that had no intention of sleeping, even though it was a sleepover. Mum wasn’t much better, keep saying I’m the non drinker in the family.

Been hitting the gym hard again, I’ve been using a website to keep the motivation going, www.gyminee.com lets me track improvements and look for different ruteenes to do, or create my own. I’m not alone in using the gym. How many people get a Olympic gold medallist training in the back garden. OK, its my dad, but good to see he’s getting back on it.
